What to do if you no longer want to continue living in your Newcastle student property?

  • Students holding up question marks over their faces

We understand that situations arise and tenants may wish to move out of their student property during the academic year.  Under Roseworth’s terms and conditions of the Assured Shorthold Tenancy (AST) Agreement that has been signed, the tenant will be liable for the property and all payment of rent until a replacement tenant is found.  In this situation, Roseworth will create and Licence and Assignement which is signed by all interested parties allowing removal of one tenant in replacement of another.  The bond will not be returned until a replacement tenant is found.

As the onus will be on the vacating tenant to find a replacement, we recommend that you advertise the room yourself.  This can be done for free on websites, such as, the University sites, Facebook, Gumtree, Sparerooms etc.  Roseworth will also try and help by re-advertising the room.

Please remember that all tenancy agreements are legally binding contracts, if you have any questions about our ASTs please contact us and we will be more than happy to help.  Why not view our FAQs page...

At Roseworth have an open door policy to all our students, so pop down to our office or contact us, one of our staff will be happy to help.
