Looking for shared housing with your friends can be an exciting, yet stressful time. With a large group to organise it’s good to have a clear idea of what you want out of your student accommodation. With properties in areas such as Newcastle City Centre and the popular residential suburbs of Jesmond, Heaton and Sandyford, we can offer you a great choice of locations.  To help with your “location, location, location” decision we’ve profiled the best areas to live as a student in Newcastle – hopefully this should make choosing a little easier!

City Centre

Whether you’re studying at Newcastle or Northumbria University a City Centre location can be ideal if you love the idea of being in walking distance of uni. Newcastle is well known for being a party city and the choices of bars and clubs on your doorstep makes City Centre living perfect for students.

With a variety of high street shops, vintage stores, banks and gyms close to home, the City Centre also offers some beautiful places to relax with Leazes Park and the famous Quayside perfect for a break from studying.

There are plenty of coffee shops and cheap eats to be found in the City Centre and with everything you need on your doorstep, living in the heart of Newcastle can really enhance your university experience.

Jesmond is one of our most popular areas for student accommodation.

Located a few miles outside the City Centre it’s a happy suburb of students and families. Easily accessible from the city by Metro, bus, or by foot,  Jesmond is a brilliant location for Northumbria or Newcastle University.

The bustling Osborne Road is very popular with lots of bars offering  cheap deals for students.  Jesmond is also home to Fat Hippo, serving the best burgers in Newcastle and Arlo, a great place to meet friends for coffee

For a break from studying the nearby Jesmond Dene is a peaceful place for a stroll and once a month you’ll find a food market on the Armstrong Bridge with plenty of reasonably priced street food.  With its own food stores, bank and gym Jesmond has all of the amenities you need close to home.

Our student accommodation in the residential area of Heaton has great Metro and bus links to the city centre making it one of the best areas to live as a student in Newcastle.

Chillingham Road is the place to be with fun food challenges at Man Vs Food, the very popular breakfast spot of The Butterfly Cabinet or, if you fancy something healthy, the delicious Naked Deli.

For study sessions Teasy Does It offers a very warm and friendly welcome to students as well as serving delicious homemade cake and endless cups of coffee.

When you want to escape the hustle and bustle of Heaton student life, Heaton Park is a great place to stretch your legs and clear your mind.  With all the amenities you need at your door, Heaton is an ideal place to look for your student accommodation.

If you fancy living in a residential area but still walking distance to uni, Sandyford is the ideal spot with our student accommodation a short 10 minute walk from the city centre.

Located half way between Newcastle and Jesmond you can experience the very best of student life.  Your close proximity to popular bars Mr Lynch and As You Like It will mean that you’ll never be too far away from a great night out.  With local shops and amenities, Sandyford is a great location for students.
